How long have you been running?
I’ve always been super sporty, but considered myself only to be a games player. Hockey, dance, karate, horse riding, football, but never ran. My favourite saying back then was “I would struggle to run a bath”, but 2 and a half years ago I fractured my ankle and needed to get fit quickly for hockey and that’s why I started running
How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
A year. After being almost dragged up Lansbury hill in Caerphilly 10k 2017 by an anonymous Caerphilly runner, I decided that I wanted to be apart of the club
Whats your running preference & why?
Preference, they’re all hard! Probably flat roads, but I’m sure that’s a popular opinion. I’m described as a little bit of a racing animal, rather than ever taking it easy. A 5K is a little fast for me and half-marathons I hurt at mile 10. I would probably say 10K is where I’ve seen most improvements
What motivates you when running?
Food and PBs!  I definitely run to enjoy the sweeter foods in life and this way I can maintain a healthy lifestyle as a role model to my pupils whilst not being miserable and hungry. I started running purely run to stay active, maintain my health and fitness for hockey. But recently I’ve become motivated by achieving goals within running itself. I just can’t help chasing my PB’s constantly at different distances
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
Returning to the scene of the pain. I first ran Caerphilly 10K in a time of 1:01:22 back in 2017 on my own and was elated by this time, although slightly gutted about the 01. I then returned 2 years later, just under a year after joining club and ran the same course in 43:59, having already run a 43:22 the week before. Taking a full 18 minutes off my first attempt

How long have you been running?
Since October 2015
How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
I joined in January 2019
Whats your running preference & why?
I enjoy both but tend to do more trail running nowadays.
I really enjoy the varying routes and terrain, and exploring the absolutely stunning countryside that we are spoilt with in South Wales

What motivates you when running?
Making my family proud and also picking races that are particularly testing and offer new challenges. I am a sucker for interesting medals too
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
Since joining Caerphilly Runners this year, my greatest achievement has been completing the first two 50 mile races of a four part trail ultra marathon series. I was also really proud to help pace the Great Welsh marathon a week after the first ultra which was a tough mental and physical challenge in itself but also extremely rewarding

How long have you been running?
I ran cross country at school, then had a few years gap, I started running again when I joined Caerphilly Runners
How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
I started on the Sofa to 5k programme in April 2017, my first race with the club was the Caerphilly 10k a few months later and have been running regularly since
Whats your running preference & why?
I enjoy Road running, trail is something I would like to try but with family commitments, it's tricky to fit it all in. Since joining Caerphilly Runners I have enjoyed working towards timing goals and being able to measure my improvements compared to previous races and years. I have particularly enjoyed being part of team events such as the Cosmeston Relays, Rose Inn Relays and Rack Raid, I enjoy the pressure of being part of a team, but the support around a course is fantastic! It's great to be able to attend a race as part of a team like Caerphilly Runners, having people to chat to before it starts, people to keep in sight when running and a supportive group to congratulate and/or commiserate at the end of a race
What motivates you when running?
Initially I began running again as a way of getting exercise in with a young family; I think if I didn't have the motivation of a club run I would convince myself that I couldn't do the distance on a Tuesday evening. I want both my sons to see exercise and healthy choices as a way of life and since I've joined both my Father and husband are now members, alongside the boys in the Kids Sessions. The knowledge and support of other members and in particular coaches means that either after a club run or race it is nice to chat to other runners either in person or on Strava - being a member of a club is definitely a motivating factor for me!
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
Since joining Caerphilly Runners I have been inspired to run races and set goals for myself being inspired by others at the club, I have always said I'd never do a marathon and then find myself entering the London ballot! I think my greatest running achievement to date is the Cardiff Half in 2018, initially had set myself a target of 2 hours and I completed it in 1:44:33, hoping to better that again in October.  Winning Caerphilly Ladies Runner of the Year 2018 is definitely up there as of my greatest running achievements

How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
I joined June 2018
Whats your running preference & why?
Road mainly because I like to focus more on speed but I do enjoy getting out on the trails over the summer months
What motivates you when running?
Just trying to improve
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
Got a few I could think of. Like sub 1:25 In Cardiff half or sub 0:17 In Whitchurch 5k but I think my biggest achievement is doing 36:44 in Caerphilly 10k this year taking off over four minutes of last years time

How long have you been running?
I have always been really sporty throughout my school years, but I started running properly when I was in University 18 years ago
How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
I joined Caerphilly Runners in July 2015, best thing I ever did!!!
Whats your running preference & why?
I enjoy running off road in the summer months but I must admit I am a hardcore, competitive, fast and flat road runner - meep meep
What motivates you when running?
I run to keep fit and healthy, running is my therapy and I thrive on achieving goals I set myself. I also like to be a good role model for my 6 year old daughter
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
For me, my greatest achievement is my recent PB at the Virgin London Marathon, I never ever thought I would achieve a sub 3.30 and I finished with a time of 3.27 which I am very proud of. Next year I will hope to better that time if I am lucky enough to stay fit and injury free

How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
I have been a member on and off since the start of the club only taking time out when i'm injured (which has been quite a bit!!!)
Whats your running preference & why?
I love to run trails but run more roads if I'm honest. I'm always chasing a personal best on my road runs
What motivates you when running?
The thrill of seeing how fast I could be if I push myself and being super competitive is in my DNA
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
I'm not sure to be honest.  I love being with the club as the people are great. I think i would have to say the Snowdon marathon last October

How long have you been running?
I began running the occasional 2k and 5k back in October 2016 but I only started taking running seriously in January
How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
I have been running with Caerphilly runners since 2017 but I’m still yet to become an official member due to the fact that I’m still 15. However, I turn 16 very shortly and will finally be able to become a full member of the club
Whats your running preference & why?
It’s fair to say that I’ve developed a passion for road running as I mainly focus on getting PB’s and becoming as fast as possible. However, I do enjoy running the trails on certain occasions
What motivates you when running?
My main motivation is health and fitness in general but I also become highly motivated when I achieve things that I originally thought were beyond my limits such as running a 18:17 5k
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
I have had many great achievements whilst at Caerphilly Runners such as running a 18:17 5k and running a 39:17 at Caerphilly 10k. I do hope to run a 38 minute 10k on a flat route very soon

How long have you been running?
I've always enjoyed a sporty lifestyle, but taken running more seriously the last 3 years
How long have you been part of Caerphilly Runners?
This is my 3rd year as a Caerphilly runner
Whats your running preference & why?
For me I enjoy road running for a variety reasons. It allows me to challenge my pace, test myself against varying terrain and road conditions and explore different distances
What motivates you when running?
The incentive for me is progression, how much quicker could I be or how much further could I run. Being a part of club motivates me as well. Being surrounded by positive, enthusiastic runners and run leaders makes you ambitious as a runner. It inspires you to want to do better
What is your greatest achievement since joining Caerphilly Runners?
By far my biggest achievement has to be being selected to represent Caerphilly runners in rack raid this year. I felt pressure to do my best and not let anyone down, but was bursting with pride for the entire of my leg. Being part of such a strong team was an honour
